who I am.

Muxoxo. Moo-Show-Shoe. I’ve been told by an old friend that it’s a Portuguese colloquialism that means Pouty Face.
I’ve looked it up and it is equivalent to saying “tut-tut”. I just like the way it looks and the way it sounds and what it means.

My name is Sam Falbo. I’m a senior art director, a graphic designer, a paper cutter, a screen printer, a dad. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my wife, Katie, and my two kids, Silas and Zosia. We’ve been here for almost five years now and we love it.

I am originally from Buffalo, NY. Yes, it snows a lot there. After getting degrees in both English and Visual Communication from SUNY Buffalo, I moved to New York City and worked in the internal design department at Forbes, Inc – while trying to dodge the mice and strange roommates I was living with. After a year, I moved midwest to Chicago where I started working as a senior art director with a small company called The Chicago Catalog Group (CCG). It was great fun, and I met some of my best friends there and really cut my teeth as a designer.

I met my wife, had two babies and discovered that I loved screen printing. Chicago has an amazing music and printmaking community and it was fun to be a part of it. Three years after CCG was bought by Haggin Marketing (rebranded as Solution Set), my family felt like 10 years in Chicago was a good even number, so we decided to try a new adventure. Much to the confusion of the rest of my heat-loving family, we moved north to Minneapolis in February of 2010 and I started working at Quad/Graphics. We’ve loved the Twin Cities so very much. Then, after taking a little break from screen printing, I’ve found that I really enjoy paper cutting – using an exacto blade to make pretty pictures out of one sheet of paper.

So that’s me. Feel free to contact me / or click that little camera down at the bottom of this page to check out my instagram feed (it’s mostly my kids and Minneapolis). Thanks for stopping by.
